The Blue Room

Go for the live set, not the set menu — book a table facing the small stage and treat dinner as background. It's a supper club: dinner and a band in one room, best on a night when you want to dress a little and sit through a full show rather than duck out after one drink. Solo visitors will feel out of place at a table built for couples and groups; go with people, and go for the music, which is the part everyone agrees on.

Kitchen timing slips badly on busy nights (Valentine's, festive season) — if you're hungry and pressed for time, eat before you arrive and treat the menu as a snack alongside the show.
